Pelecaniform (order Pelecaniformes), any of the relatively large and diverse group of aquatic birds that share the common characteristic of webbing between all four toes. The order Pelecaniformes conventionally contains anhingas, cormorants, tropic birds, frigate birds, gannets and boobies and pelicans.
